Earlier today, we reported that GPD was exploring a battery extension cable for the Win 5 to address concerns among its fanbase over the handheld's design. Now, the company has provided some clarity about when its new gaming handheld will be available to order.
To recap, GPD previously suggested that the Win 5 would not be available until October. However, it seems that the company has managed to bring forward the device's launch by about a month. Writing on X, GPD claims that the Win 5 is only 'coming soon', adding that one can now sign up to receive future updates and launch discounts on a new Indiegogo campaign page.
Setting that vagueness aside, the company has confirmed that the Win 5 will be available globally through the same crowdfunding platform it used to fund the MicroPC 2 and Win Mini 2025 (curr. $1,459 on Amazon). Added to that, GPD has indicated that the Win 5 will reach Indiegogo at the 'end of this month'. Reportedly, GPD's next gaming handheld will start at CNY 9,999 (~$1,401) with an AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 APU and 32 GB of RAM.
