Full specifications of Lenovo's new ThinkPad P53 workstation unveiled for all configurations
It's been over a month since Lenovo's latest updates to their P5x and P7x mobile workstations were first leaked. While many of the details were known, there were still quite a few blanks to be filled-in — until the full specifications of the P53 were uploaded to Lenovo's website today, that is.
While we knew what the maximum CPU and GPU configurations were from the first leaks, the other possibilities had been unknown. Lenovo's documentation reveals CPU choices from the i5-9400H (quad-core), i7-9750H, i7-9850H, i9-9880H (octa-core), and E-2276M (hexa-core, ECC support). On the GPU side, five options are available, ranging from the Quadro T1000 to T2000 and RTX 3000 to 4000 and 5000 Max-Q.
Finally, the 2019 ThinkPad P53 can be configured with four different displays: FHD IPS (300 nits), FHD HDR 400 (500 nits), UHD HDR 400 (500 nits), and UHD HDR 500 OLED (350-400 nits). Only the OLED display supports touch and has a glossy finish with anti-reflective coating, while all the IPS options are all listed as "anti-glare".
On the downside for the P53, we (and many others) note the unfortunate removal of the external 90 WHr battery. Also notable is the 3.5mm of additional height for the P53 compared to the P52, likely a result of the heavy-duty RTX GPUs the mobile workstation can be configured with.
