Reviews for the Fujitsu LifeBook S904
Enduring. Fujitsu wants to lure mobile computer workers into buying its new 13.3-inch Lifebook S904 laptop. In addition to a low weight, the computer features an IGZO-WQHD screen, a docking port, and a 3G/LTE module. Beyond that, the company also promises a battery runtime of up to 24 hours and includes a three-year warranty. Sounds too good to be true?

A slightly bulky chassis doesn't detract from the Lifebook S904's charms too much. It's still attractive, and businesss users won't be too bothered about a little extra thickness to get hold of full day of battery life (we'd bet that plenty of consumers would make the sacrifice too).

Model:
The beautiful dual tone Fujitsu LifeBook S904 looks good and brings serious computing power. It weighs about 1.5 kg, the display lid is made from magnesium alloy and the device comes with either black/silver or red/silver. There are a few models with the Intel Core i7-4600U quad core processor clocked at 2.1 GHz being top of the line. Users can opt for a combination of 12 GB DDR3L 1600MHz RAM and a SATA3 512GB SSD for some serious power. On board is an Intel HD 4400 graphics chip and a 13.3 inch LED backlit WQHD Anti-glare IGZO display which comes with optional touchscreen capability.
The Fujitsu LifeBook S904 also comes with a built-in HD Webcam, 2 digital internal microphones, a VGA port, a HDMI port, 3 USB 3.0 ports and much more. Business solutions are also available with a port replicator and an optional smart card slot. Audio quality is good with a Realtek ALC283 HD Audio chip driving the stereo speakers. There is also a handy DVD Super Multi drive and card reader. It is amazing how much functionality was packed into the laptop by Fujitsu and to top that further, the Fujitsu LifeBook S904 comes with a 24 hour battery life rating.
Intel HD Graphics 4400:
ULV integrated GPU (GT2) with 20 EUs found on certain Haswell CPU models.
Non demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards.

Intel Core i7: The Intel Core i7 for laptops is based on the LG1156 Core i5/i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores. Because of the large TDP of 45 W / 55 W, the CPU is only intended for large laptops.
4600U:
A Haswell-based ULV dual-core processor clocked at 2.1 GHz with Turbo Boost support up to 3.3 GHz. Offers an integrated HD Graphics 4400 and a dual-channel DDR3 memory controller.

There are hardly any tablets in this display size range anymore. For subnotebooks, on the other hand, it is the standard format.
The advantage of subnotebooks is that the entire laptop can be small and therefore easily portable. The smaller display also has the advantage of requiring less power, which further improves battery life and thus mobility. The disadvantage is that reading texts is more strenuous on the eyes. High resolutions are more likely to be found in standard laptops.
