Fujifilm is relaunching the Instax Mini Evo to mark the company's 90th anniversary. The hybrid instant camera, which can both print and store photos digitally, has been given a new silver or gold finish and an extended scope of delivery.

Fujifilm was founded in Tokyo on January 20, 1934, which is why the company is currently celebrating its 90th anniversary. As part of celebrations, Fujifilm is presenting a limited 90th Anniversary Edition of the Instax Mini Evo, which is available in either Dark Silver or Titanium Gold.

The camera comes as a bundle with a color-coordinated lens cap, a camera strap and a protective case. The camera also bears the original, somewhat more playful Fujifilm logo from 1934 instead of the modernized lettering that the company currently uses. Technically, the limited edition is identical to the regular Instax Mini Evo. Fundamentally, it is a digital camera with a 5 MP CMOS sensor in 1/5 inch format.

The lens has a 35 mm equivalent focal length of 28 mm. The special feature is the integrated instant printer, which allows photos to be printed immediately on Instax Mini film. With ten lens modes and ten filters, photos can be customized to suit your own style.

The camera has a self-timer and a corresponding smartphone app that can be used to control the Instax Mini Evo remotely, but can also be used to print photos stored on the smartphone. The integrated battery provides enough power for around 100 instant photos and is charged via USB-C. A 3-inch display with a pixel count of 460,000 dots serves as a viewfinder.

Price and availability

The Instax Mini Evo in the 90th Anniversary Edition is expected to be launched on October 25 for a recommended retail price of $229.95, making the camera and its extended scope of delivery $30 more expensive than the regular Instax Mini Evo.
