A new leak has unveiled key details of the upcoming Fujifilm X-M5, highlighting features like 4K 120fps video (with cropping), 20 film simulations and in-body stabilization. The camera also includes Frame.io integration, 425-point AF and a dedicated Vlog mode.

A new leak regarding the highly anticipated Fujifilm X-M5 has surfaced, revealing detailed specifications and reinforcing previous rumors. We now have a much clearer picture of the camera’s capabilities, and its positioning within the Fujifilm lineup. Nevertheless, the price point and launch date remain elusive, though the camera is expected to launch sometime later this year.

According to the latest leak, the X-M5 will feature a 26.1-megapixel APS-C X-Trans BSI CMOS 4 sensor paired with an X-Processor 5, a setup previously seen in the X-S20 (currently $1,299 on Amazon). This combination will allow the X-M5 to shoot DCI/UHD 4K video at 60fps, with an option for 120fps 4K video, though with cropping. The camera will also offer a dedicated Vlog mode, clearly appealing to a demographic of content creators and vloggers who prefer a versatile mirrorless camera for both video and photography.

In terms of autofocus, the X-M5 will feature a 425-point hybrid AF system. The camera will also come equipped with 7-stop in-body image stabilization (IBIS), implying that it will be capable of capturing smooth video and sharp stills in low-light conditions or even while shooting handheld.

As per the rumored specs, the X-M5 will also include Frame.io cloud integration. With 20 film simulation modes accessible via Fujifilm's signature dial and a 3.0-inch 1.62 million-dot variable-angle touchscreen, the X-M5 is shaping up to be quite user-friendly, but as previous leaks have mentioned, it will definitely bump up the price of the camera. The same leaks have also indicated that the X-M5 would likely be a middle child — a more affordable alternative to the Fujifilm X100VI, but with premium features and potential pricing closer to Fujifilm's entry-level to mid-range cameras, like the X-T50 (currently $1,499 on Amazon).
