Deal | From the Frostpunk devs: This unusual strategy game is just $1.49 on Steam

In Anomaly 2, humanity has lost the war against an alien invasion. Massive machines now control Earth, while the few remaining survivors fight their way through a devastated world in armed convoys. Players take command of the Yukon convoy and set out to find a powerful weapon capable of eliminating the alien threat once and for all.
Anyone accustomed to building defensive towers in traditional tower defense games will need to rethink their approach in Anomaly 2. Here, players are on the other side, attempting to break through enemy defenses. To succeed, they must carefully plan their routes, assemble the right combat units and deploy powerful special abilities at just the right moment. There are also vehicles that can transform into alternative mech forms in the middle of battle. This opens up additional tactical possibilities, particularly when a different weapon type or attack range is needed.

In terms of gameplay, Anomaly 2 seems to get quite a few things right. Gaming Nexus awarded it 8 out of 10, praising the varied battles, straightforward controls and well-executed multiplayer mode. However, the sometimes brutal difficulty spikes proved frustrating, especially since certain missions can only be completed through repeated trial and error. According to the reviewers, the tactical freedom is also more limited in some situations than the wide range of available options initially suggests.
Metacritic lists the strategy game with a Metascore of 77 and a user score of 7.8. The Steam community's verdict is similar, with 79% of more than 1,000 user reviews being positive. Steam Deck compatibility is officially listed as Unknown.
90% off on Steam
Long before Frostpunk brought 11 bit studios widespread attention, the Polish studio had already released Anomaly 2. Both games are currently included in a major developer sale on Steam. Anomaly 2 is available at a massive 90% discount until November 14, reducing its price from $14.99 to just $1.49. According to SteamDB, this matches the game's previous all-time low, last reached during the Steam Autumn Sale.
