Free WoW tutorial game tops Steam charts with 100% positive reviews

Vellum: Raid Night Study Hall, a new World of Warcraft (WoW) tutorial game, has landed on Steam ahead of Season 1 raids. Released on March 9 as a completely free, standalone single-player title, the game is essentially a “playable cheat sheet” for the upcoming raids. Players control a living ink pen in a whimsical literary world, using inky spells to battle eight stylized boss encounters based on the first three raids in the Midnight expansion: The Voidspire, The Dreamrift, and March on Quel’Danas.
Instead of watching long YouTube guides or wiping repeatedly in the real game, raiders get a low-pressure practice arena with real-time tips, a detailed Raid Codex, unlimited retries, and dynamic explanations of every mechanic. The bosses carry cheeky literary names while faithfully recreating the actual fight patterns players will face starting March 17.
Alvios Games, creators of the co-op literary roguelike Vellum, built the trainer as a fun side project and love letter to the WoW community. With Season 1 set to unlock Normal and Heroic wings next week, Vellum: Raid Night Study Hall is already being praised by reviewers as an enjoyable way to prepare.
Since its launch, it has received 63 reviews on Steam, with 100% of the reviews being positive. Reviewers praise the accurate mechanics and in-game music.
