Crimson Desert FAQ confirms no cross-save and day-one patch

Pearl Abyss has shared a new official Crimson Desert launch FAQ that clears up several practical details ahead of release, including the game’s global launch timing, pre-load schedule, platform list, controller support, and internet requirements. The biggest takeaways are that Crimson Desert will not support cross-save between platforms and that players will need an internet connection for the initial setup and day-one patch before the game can be played offline.
No cross-save and no fully offline first-time setup
According to the FAQ, Crimson Desert does not support cross-save across platforms. Pearl Abyss also says players will need an internet connection to complete the initial setup and install the day-one patch, although the game can be played offline once installation is complete. The studio adds that future updates and patches will also require an internet connection to download.
That means players planning to switch between platforms will have to keep separate progress files, while anyone hoping to install and play entirely offline on day one will need to adjust expectations. Pearl Abyss’s wording is clear that offline play comes only after the initial setup has been completed online.
Global launch and pre-load times are now locked in
Pearl Abyss says Crimson Desert launches simultaneously worldwide on March 19 at 15:00 PT / 22:00 GMT / March 20 at 07:00 KST. Pre-load opens March 17 at 15:00 PT / 22:00 GMT / March 18 at 07:00 KST for the PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, Microsoft Store, and Steam.
The FAQ also confirms that the game is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Steam for PC and Mac, Epic Games Store, Mac App Store, and GeForce NOW. That is a broad platform spread, especially with both Mac and cloud support included in the launch lineup.
PC and console support details are now clearer
Pearl Abyss says Crimson Desert supports FSR 3/4 and DLSS 4/4.5 on PC, upgraded PSSR on PS5 Pro, and FSR 3 on the base PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The FAQ also says the PC version supports AMD FSR Ray Regeneration and NVIDIA DLSS Ray Reconstruction, while frame generation is supported only on PC and Mac. On Mac, the game also supports MetalFX Upscaler, Frame Generation, and Denoiser.
For controller support, Pearl Abyss says the PC version works with Xbox controllers and the DualSense controller via USB only. That is a small but useful detail for players who were planning to use Sony’s controller wirelessly on PC.
Pearl Abyss is focusing on launch logistics rather than last-minute surprises
The FAQ reads less like a marketing post and more like a practical pre-launch checklist. Beyond the headline items, Pearl Abyss also confirms interface and subtitle support for 14 languages, with full voiceover available in English, Korean, and Simplified Chinese.
For players waiting on launch-day logistics, the most important part is that Pearl Abyss has now answered several of the common pre-release questions in one place. The lack of cross-save may disappoint some buyers, but the FAQ does at least remove uncertainty around launch timing, pre-load access, online requirements, and platform support.
