Two days before the first day of the final month of the year 2023, the Japanese gaming behemoth Sony has finally revealed the upcoming free games for active PS Plus subscribers of any tier in an corresponding post on the official PlayStation blog. As usual, console gamers will be able to play three titles for free, with each game speaking to an entirely different audience.
The headliner of the PS Plus game lineup of December 2023 is Lego 2K Drive, which was released earlier this year and offers an open-world with four different areas. Before hitting the streets, players can build their own cars from virtual Lego blocks. In addition to the regular single and multiplayer modes, the family-friendly PlayStation Plus game for Sony's PS4 and PS5 further includes a local co-op mode, in which two players can compete against each other and against the rubber-band AI via split screen.
As already indicated, Sony's second PS Plus game in December 2023 tries to capture the satisfaction of cleaning a driveway with the accordingly named title Powerwash Simulator, which also revolves around the economic aspects of running a cleaning business. Players who don't want to get too familiar with this special type of game can also dive into the sandy open world of Sable, which is set on a desert planet called "Midden" and invites adventurers to thoroughly explore and enjoy a coming-of-age story. All three PlayStation Plus games will be available for free download starting December 5, provided that console owners have an active PS Plus Essential, Premium or Extra membership.
Update: PlayStation Plus games for December 2023 now available
As advertised, Sony has made the three aforementioned PS Plus Essential titles available for download. Active subscribers may add the three games to their library free of charge until January 1.
