First HyperOS 3 beta update officially rolls out to eight Xiaomi phones and tablets

The Xiaomi HyperOS 3 beta program is now live, and a total of eight eligible phones and tablets have received the first test build of the Android 16 skin. The Redmi K80 Pro and Xiaomi 15 are among the first smartphones to get the update.

Following the official unveiling of Xiaomi HyperOS 3, a total of eight devices have received the first beta build of the Android 16 update. As we have highlighted in our past coverage, the phones and tablets that are first in line to get the test build are as follows:

  • Xiaomi Pad 7S Pro 12.5
  • Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro
  • Xiaomi 15 (12/256 GB curr. $625.51 on TradingShenzhen)
  • Xiaomi 15 Pro
  • Xiaomi 15 Ultra
  • Xiaomi 15S Pro
  • Redmi K80 Pro
  • Redmi K80 Ultra

It's worth noting that users with the above-listed models need to enroll in the beta testing program to download the test build update. Check out Xiaomi's beta tester recruitment guide to know more about the enrollment process. That said, a total of seven more devices are next to get the HyperOS 3 beta, and they are as follows:

  • Redmi K80
  • Redmi K Pad
  • Xiaomi Pad 7
  • Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra
  • Xiaomi Mix Flip 2
  • Xiaomi TV S Pro Mini-LED
  • Xiaomi TV S Pro Mini-LED 2025

This second batch of devices will get the new update from September 17, 2025, and on September 30, the beta update will land on 10 more devices. For those who missed our last coverage, HyperOS 3 brings a noticeable overhaul in terms of UI and design. One of the highlights is Super Island, which is Xiaomi's new take on Apple's Dynamic Island.

Xiaomi also claims that the new update brings many enhancements to offer improved system performance and user experience. The company says that there's a 30% improvement in terms of overall system efficiency, and the update is said to offer up to 15% better gaming performance.

HyperOS 3 is also claimed to offer better security than the previous versions of the Android skin. Xiaomi noted that the update provides fine-grained app permission management, offering more flexibility in terms of restricting apps from getting access to sensitive data.
