February 2026 Google update skips Pixel 6 and 7

Google’s February 2026 Pixel update is largely a security-only release, with the Pixel Update Bulletin calling out just one Pixel-specific vulnerability fix: a high-severity elevation-of-privilege issue in the VPU driver (CVE-2026-0106).
The bulletin says Pixel devices should move to the 2026-02-05 patch level to address issues listed there and in the broader Android Security Bulletin for February 2026.
Which Pixels are getting the update
According to rollout documentation, the February 2026 build family (BP4A.260205) is landing on Pixel 7a and newer devices, plus Pixel Tablet and the original Pixel Fold, with multiple build variants depending on model and region.
The notable absence: Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 series... which is not showing up for the Pixel 6, 6 Pro, 6a, 7, and 7 Pro, despite those devices still being inside Google’s listed support window.
That gap has fueled fresh speculation that Google may be moving older Pixels away from a strict monthly cadence, potentially toward quarterly or risk-based releases. Google has not publicly confirmed a cadence change, but a statement shared with press outlets says Pixel phones will remain “security compliant” through their full support windows via Pixel-specific patches, Google Play system updates, and Android Security Bulletin fixes.
What this likely means for owners
Right now, the only fully solid takeaway is that February’s Pixel-specific change list is unusually short, and some older models aren’t included in the public February rollout coverage.
If you’re on a Pixel 6 or Pixel 7 phone and you’re not seeing an OTA, it may still arrive later depending on Google’s phased rollout and carrier gating. Google’s own guidance notes updates can roll out gradually and may take time to reach every device.
