The Exynos 2400 SoC of the recently unveiled Samsung Galaxy S24 series shows promising results in early benchmarks. It has now obtained a respective 4042 overall score on the 3DMark Wild Life Extreme benchmark, which is very close to the Apple A17 Pro.

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S24 series on January 17. While the previous lineup had Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in all regions, the standard and plus variant of the S24 range will have Exynos 2400 instead of Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in some markets. Although the past Samsung-made smartphone chipsets had many issues, things are looking different for the new SoC.

The Exynos 2400 has recently undergone an extreme gaming test where it got neck and neck with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Now, the chipset's 3DMark Wild Life Extreme benchmark result has surfaced, in which it obtained a very close score to the Apple A17 Pro (unlocked iPhone 15 Pro renewed curr. $984.98 on Amazon).

More specifically, the RDNA 3 GPU inside the Samsung Exynos 2400 scored 4042 in the 3DMark benchmark. To compare, the Apple A17 Pro gets around 4075 points. This score means that the chipset inside the Galaxy S24 series is 2x faster than the predecessor, the Exynos 2200.

For those wondering, the average score of the Exynos 2200 is 1968 points in 3DMark. As for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, it typically scores around 5338 points on the Wild Life Extreme benchmark.

It should be noted that mobile GPU benchmark tests rely a lot on the thermal capacity of smartphones. SoCs can obtain much lower scores in prolonged stress tests than in the first run. The 3DMark score of the Exynos 2400 that surfaced only shows the result of one single run, which doesn't shed light on whether the chip can offer a stable performance.
