Epic Games Store confirms total of 17 free games for holiday 2025 giveaway event

Epic Games Store is currently giving away a critically acclaimed AAA title as a free game, and it happens to be the first mystery freebie of the holiday season 2025. Previous reports suggested that there would be 15 more freebies, making the total mystery giveaways stand at 16.

However, with a recent official teaser, Epic Games Store has confirmed that there will be a total of 17 free games throughout the 2025 holiday season. This suggests that after the first mystery freebie expires on December 18, 2025, the platform will start daily giveaways until January 01, 2026, which will mark the end of the 16th giveaway.

After that, the last mystery free game for this holiday giveaway event will start and be available for a week, ending on January 08, 2025. While the number of freebies has been officially confirmed, the storefront didn't offer any hints about the upcoming freebie. However, per a recent leak that has been reshared by a credible leaker, HXL, it could be Jurassic World: Evolution 2 (typically costs $59.99).

Another list has also surfaced, which isn't much of a leak but more of a prediction. This one comes from the YouTube channel named Should You Play It?, and it suggests that the next mystery freebie could be BioMenance Remastered, which is set to release on December 18, 2025, the same day that the second free game will go live.

The YouTuber has predicted the other free games that Epic Games Store could give away throughout the special holiday event, but like the other list, this one should also be taken with a fair amount of salt.
