Second Epic Games Store mystery free game predictions hint at a well-rated platformer

The first mystery free game giveaway event for the holiday 2025 season is still available to claim. For those who missed it, the first freebie is Hogwarts Legacy, a AAA title from 2023 that generally goes for $59.99 when not on sale. The second one from the lineup is set to unlock on December 18, 2025, at UTC 16:00.

While Epic Games Store has not shared any obvious clues, a discussion surrounding the second free game on r/EpicGamesPC is hinting at Yooka-Replaylee. Those who are in favor of this prediction are pointing to the fact that the color of the wrapper matches the color theme of the title's cover image.

This color theme of the wrapper may not be a genuine hint, as Epic Games Store used the same design to hide the first giveaway, which turned out to be Hogwarts Legacy, and its cover photo doesn't match the wrapper. However, some have noted that Yooka-Laylee was previously given away on the platform.

To fill you in, Yooka-Replaylee is the remastered version of Yooka-Laylee. The former was released in October 2025 and is a well-received 3D platforming adventure game. It's available on some of the platforms (such as Humble Bundle), but not on the Epic Games Store. However, it has been recently listed on the storefront with the "coming soon" teaser.

Of course, this isn't the only prediction that's been floating around. Per a questionable leaked list, Jurassic World: Evolution 2 is set to be the second free game of this giveaway event. However, most are calling it fake, and it's also worth noting that there are 16 games in the list, but Epic Games Store has confirmed there will be 17 freebies.
