Epic Games Store: New free game giveaway now available on mobile for a limited time
Earlier today, The Epic Games returned with a new batch of giveaways on PC. As we have covered separately, the storefront has decided to offer over $100 worth of games and in-game items. However, only one of these titles is a paid-for game.
On top of that, it has now refreshed its free mobile giveaway program, having discounted Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead a week earlier. This time around, Epic Games has given Botanicula the same treatment in a deal worth $11.98 across Android and iOS. The storefront's latest giveaway also includes in-game items Firestone Online Idle RPG. Firestone Online Idle RPG is a free-to-play game, though.
In other words, the Epic Games Store has aligned its mobile and PC game giveaway programs for the first time. Ultimately, it remains to be seen whether this will hold out for more than a week. Regardless, it is more difficult to obtain free Epic Games giveaways on mobile than it is on PC. As it stands, the storefront cannot be installed via the Apple App or Google Play stores. Instead, one must sideload the Epic Games Store onto recent Android smartphones or iPhones.
As a result, Epic Games has published dedicated Android and iOS support articles to help people with the installation process. Alternatively, one can navigate directly to its instant checkout page to redeem this week's games across Android and iOS simultaneously. One must be logged into an Epic Games account for this redemption method to work, though.
