What makes a great business laptop? For us, one of the deciding factors is the keyboard: If the keyboard is good, a device is well suited for productivity usage. Of course, its not just this one factor. Business laptops also need to have many ports, security features and connectivity options.
What makes a great convertible? A strong chassis which can take the flipping into convertible mode, a great pen and good touchscreen as well as a bright, high quality screen.
A combination of both looks like something close to the HP EliteBook x360 830 G10. This compact, lightweight convertible laptop, which we recently reviewed, is made for the enterprise market, and it scores high on almost all counts. The HP laptop has both a comfortable keyboard and great pen, as well as a wealth of ports, security and connectivity features. All of this embedded in a robust aluminum chassis.
Where it falters a little bit is the screen - the matte screen surface both dulls the picture a bit and makes the pen a bit harder to use, as there is too much friction for our taste. Also, the HP EliteBook x360 does not shine when it comes to the CPU performance and battery life - both are merely average.
Overall though, the HP EliteBook 830 G10 x360 can be a strong contender for users who look for a small productivity machine with the typical convertible features. The closest competitor, the Lenovo ThinkPad X13 Yoga G4 (available from Amazon), is not far behind in most categories though and ahead in some.
