Durabook re-launches the fully-rugged Durabook R11 tablet for a starting price of $1849 USD
Available since at least early 2019, Durabook Americas is re-introducing the rugged Durabook R11 tablet for a COVID-stricken world. In its latest press release, the manufacturer claims the tablet is "easy to clean and disinfect, making it even more valuable to field users during today's COVID-19 pandemic".
Other than the re-release, this is same Durabook R11 we saw last year with its Intel 8th gen Core U-series CPU options, Intel 9260 Wi-Fi 5 wireless, 1080p matte touchscreen, and both IP65 and MIL-STD-810G certifications.
In our review of the device, we noted the above-average display contrast ratio and color reproduction for a rugged tablet, but we were disappointed by some of its touch-sensitive features and presence of pulse-width modulation for brightness control. We were also unable to reproduce the claimed 16-hour battery life as our real-world WLAN test would return just under 6 hours instead.
See our full review on the Durabook R11 here and its official product page here to learn more about the rugged device. Options start at $1849 USD, but users willing to spend more can opt for the higher-end Durabook U11 series instead.
