Conflicting Samsung Galaxy S23 display specifications have been offered up by two well-known tech tipsters. While the differences between the alleged specs are small, they could be crucial in regard to the battery life performance of the S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra. It appears the confusion about a flat-screened Galaxy S23 Ultra may have been resolved.

Once again, leakers have clashed over specifications in regard to the Samsung Galaxy S23 series. This time around, it appears to be Ahmed Qwaider vs. TheGalox_, with the two posting similar display specification lists but with some vital differences. Qwaider was the first to post, and he also adds the word “officially” to his list, which is something of a risk if he ends up being inaccurate. According to him, the Galaxy S23 display specs are as follows:

  • Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra: 6.8-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X 1-120 Hz
  • Samsung Galaxy S23+: 6.6-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X 48-120 Hz
  • Samsung Galaxy S23: 6.1-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X 48-120 Hz

Interestingly, TheGalox_ seems to be in agreement for the most part, except when it comes to the variable display refresh rate. While the S23 Ultra maintains 1-120 Hz, the Galaxy S23 and S23+ get better 24-120 Hz rates, with the chance of that figure actually ending up being 10-120 Hz. This is an area where Samsung won’t want to fool its customers, as there was something of a debacle with the Galaxy S22 series release. The Galaxy S22 and S22+ were advertised with 10-120 Hz rates when the truth was that they really operated with 48-120 Hz rates.

So, as a new Galaxy S23 specs disagreement flares, it appears a previous one has been settled to some extent. Ahmed Qwaider shared posts claiming that the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra would have a flat screen and flat edges, while Ice universe has been commenting about the reduced, but not quite flat, curves the S23 Ultra would sport. After Ice universe posted what is purportedly a real partial image of the Galaxy S23 Ultra, it can be seen in a comparison with the S22 Ultra posted by sakitech (see below) that both leakers could be considered correct. However, Qwaider is still adamant that his leak is more accurate, exclaiming, “with time it will always become clear to everyone that I am right”.
