Details and pricing of the Vivo NEX surface ahead of launch
The Vivo NEX has been on the headlines since it was teased at MWC earlier this year. Of course, it was called the Vivo Apex then. The device is said to be set for a June 12—today—launch, but most of its details have already surfaced.
According to reports, there will be at least two models of the device. One will be a base model NEX, while the other will be the more powerful, more expensive NEX S. The base Vivo NEX will be powered by the new Snapdragon 710, making it only the second device to bear that honor. It’s unknown what amount of RAM and storage it will come with but it’s expected to have a price tag in the region of US$600.
The NEX S will be powered by a Snapdragon 845 and will feature 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of storage. Unlike the regular NEX that comes with a traditional fingerprint reader, the NEX S will feature an in-display sensor. It’s expected to bear a price tag that translates to about US$720.
Both devices will sport large 6.59-inch FHD+ displays. They also both come with a novel pop-up selfie camera, a 12 MP + 5 MP rear camera setup, and a 4000 mAh battery.
