Vivo may not be the most popular smartphone brand around—especially in Western markets—but no one can doubt the company’s portfolio of devices, one that’s unexpectedly more extensive than that of the average OEM. The company is said to be set to release another premium device, in the form of the Vivo X23.
The previous device in the series, the Vivo X21 UD, is notable for being the first production smartphone with an under-display fingerprint reader—hence the “UD” in its name. The X23 will take up that mantle in the coming weeks, as it has now been teased on Vivo’s official website.
Going by the teaser and previously touted information, the Vivo X23 will be powered by a Snapdragon 710, the same SoC seen on the Mi 8 SE and Vivo NEX A. The X23 could feature 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of storage.
Design-wise, the X23 will sport a water/teardrop notch, which is indisputably a better sight than the rectangular notches that were popular earlier in the year. It will, of course, feature an under-display fingerprint sensor, with dual rear cameras and, possibly, a dedicated DAC completing an already interesting specifications sheet.
The device also made an appearance on Geekbench yesterday, the listing showing it with a Snapdragon 710 and 8 GB, confirming the information above.
