Dell leaks Precision 5000 series with i5-7300HQ, i5-7440HQ, and i7-7700HQ options
CES 2017 is less than a week away and major manufacturers like Dell are expected to announce new laptops alongside the next wave of Kaby Lake CPUs. A recent listing of Dell Precision workstations, however, is showing the new Precision 5520 with yet to be announced 35 W Kaby Lake options (i5-7300HQ, i5-7440HQ, and i7-7700HQ) and even a Quadro M2100. In comparison, the current Precision 5510 can only be equipped with up to Xeon or Core i7 Skylake processors and Quadro M1000M Graphics.
There appears to be no other major changes between the Precision 5510 and supposed Precision 5520 beyond the core specifications. The chassis will likely remain identical with characteristics lifted from the successful XPS 15 InfinityEdge series. The 400-nit backlight is also being advertised on the new Precision 5520, although the display our own Precision 5510 test unit averaged about 400 nits as well. It's possible that the display options between the Precision 5510 and 5520 will remain identical.
An online retailer earlier last week leaked unannounced Asus ROG notebooks sporting the same i7-7700HQ CPU to succeed the current Skylake i7-6700HQ.
