Dell is refreshing the Inspiron 2-in-1 laptop series by adding Intel’s new gen 8 CPUs as well as new configurations to the 13.3-inch, 15.6-inch and 17.3-inch versions.
First up is the new 13.3-inch Inspiron 5379. There’s a choice between the ultra-low voltage Core i5-8250U and the Core i7-8550U quad-core / eight-thread CPUs. Users can also choose between a 768p or 1080p IPS display. This model can handle up to 16 GB of DDR4-2400 RAM, but there is no discrete GPU option. On the storage side, options include a default 1 TB HDD and up to one 512 GB SSD. The Inspiron 5379 weighs 3.6 lbs, comes with a 42 Wh battery and will be priced as low as $749,99.
Next is the 15.6-inch 7570 model that comes with three display options: a 1080p non-touchscreen, a 1080p touchscreen and a 4K touchscreen. Dell only provides the older 940MX 4GB GPU for this model. The CPU options are the same as the ones from the 13.3-inch version, but the 7570 variant can integrate up to 32 GB of DDR4-2400. The storage options include up to one 2 TB HDD, up to one SATA 512 GB SSD, and up to one M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD. There’s support for Intel Optane drives, as well. This model comes with a 180-degrees hinge, 56 Wh battery and weighs 4.4 lbs. Prices start at US$799, depending on options.
The top of the line is represented by the new 17.3-inch 7773 model. The CPU options remain the same new gen 8 CPUs from the previous models, but the maximum RAM capacity is only 16 GB. It comes with a 180-degrees hinged 1080p IPS touchscreen display, and also integrates the new MX150 4GB GDDR5 GPU from Nvidia. Storage options include up to one 1 TB M.2 SSD and up to 2 TB HDD. Due to the bigger size and the 56 Wh battery, the Inspiron 7773 weighs 6.49 lbs. Prices for this model start at US$949.99.
All the new Inspiron 2-in-1 models will begin shipping on October 3rd.
