Dell introduces new Alienware 18 gaming laptop

Teaser
Earlier this year, Dell upgraded the Alienware 15 and Alienware 17 gaming laptops. Now it’s high time for the biggest of the legendary trio, the Alienware 18, to receive the same treatment.

The new Alienware 18 is available in three CPU options, ranging from Intel Core i7-4710MQ, through Core i7-4910MQ, up to Core i7-4940MX (overclocked to 4.4 GHz). Buyers can also choose between GeForce GTX 970M SLI or GTX 980M SLI setups.

The laptop comes with 16 GB or 32 GB of DDR3L-1600 memory, a 1 TB HDD, as well an (optional) 512 GB SSD and a DVD-writer. The 18.4-inch WLED screen sports Full HD resolution, which still is the sweet spot between performance and imaghe quality.

New Alienware 18 also features 802.11ac and Killer Ethernet connectivity as well as an 86 Wh battery. The latter will probably be used rather rarely, due to the laptop’s size and weight of over 12.1 lbs (5.5 kg). On the sides, there are 4 USB 3.0 ports a mini-Display port and an HDMI output, among others.

Pricing starts at $2500 and ends at $4649.99, for which price we’ll get what Dell calls „the most powerful gaming notebook ever”, equipped with the overclocked Core i7-4940MX, dual GTX 980M, 32 GB of RAM, 1 TB HDD + 512 GB SSD.

The laptop comes with Windows 8.1 preinstalled. It’s available now via Dell’s website.
