Samsung’s Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ that were unveiled last week come with several software functionalities that aren’t available on Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge models. Today, Samsung informed that some of the features from the new handsets will be made available for the slightly older S6 duo as well.
The most important of the aforementioned features is the company’s new payment service, Samsung Pay. It’s set to launch in Suth Korea later this month and then will go live in the United States in September. Thus, it is understandable that the Korean giant wants to increase the number of potential Samsung Pay users as much as possible.
Other features that will get ported from Note 5 and S6 Edge+ to S6 and S6 Edge are more minor and include redesigned icons and tweaks for TouchWiz interface and Apps Edge (on S6 Edge), as well as the Samsung Knox security software.
At this point it is unknown when the updates will be available on markets other that South Korea and United States.
