Hands-on impressions on the long-rumored Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 EdgePlus are making headlines around the web. A Thai advertisement agency has published the first images of the sales packaging as well as the core specifications of the Note 5 phablet.
According to the source, the Galaxy Note 5 will have the following specifications:
- CPU: Exynos 7420 SoC
- Display: 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED
- RAM: 4 GB RAM
- Storage: 32 GB eMMC
- Cameras: Rear 16 MP, Front 5 MP
- Software: Android 5.1.1
- Battery: 4100 mAh
The Note 5 will also support wireless charging, though the pad must be purchased separately.
Meanwhile, the new S-Pen for the Note 5 will have its own recessed housing in the phablet itself. The pen uses a push-type function for ejecting and inserting as previously rumored.
Some notable downsides to the phablet include no MicroSD support and a non-removable battery. The Reddit source also claims that the Note 5 looks and feels better to hold compared to the Galaxy S6 EdgePlus. Samsung will officially unveil both devices this on August 13 during its NYC Unpacked event.
