The XPS 16 is a relatively new option for the XPS series (curr. $2,959 on Amazon), having been introduced earlier this year with Intel Meteor Lake processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series GPUs. Based on a roadmap contained within an internal document about the forthcoming XPS 13 9345, it seems that Dell has already mapped out future XPS 16 releases until the end of 2027.
Like the XPS 15 before it, Dell is hoping to update the XPS 16 more or less annually. However, it looks like the XPS 16 will be refreshed fewer times than the XPS 13 and XPS 14; release roadmaps for both models also appear in the same document. Specifically, Dell is targeting an early 2025 introduction for an XPS 16 powered by Arrow Lake-H processors and next-generation NVIDIA GPUs. For reference, the latter is likely NVIDIA's RTX 50 'Blackwell' generation.
Following that, Dell will refresh the XPS 16 again at the start of 2026 by swapping in Panther Lake-H and 'NVIDIA Refresh' GPUs. Arguably, the more interesting changes could occur in 2027 with the adoption of a new XPS 16 'Performante' model. Please note that 'Performante' is probably a codename that designates a device redesign. Also, the roadmap notes that Dell may move the XPS 16 Performante to 2028, albeit for unspecified reasons. Nonetheless, 2027 should mark the introduction of AMD, Intel Nova Lake and Qualcomm Snapdragon variants, all with 80 W TDPs.
