Reviews for the Dell XPS 13-9350
Skylake successor… Dell’s adoption of an evolutionary approach to revising their flagship XPS 13 Ultrabook seems appropriate given the splendor of the machine’s futuristic design and the universal praise heaped upon its predecessor. But can its chipset refresh and tweaks under the hood keep it perched at the top of the pile? We leave no stone unturned and no key unpressed.

Archive.org versionI love the keyboards on ThinkPad notebooks, and the trackpads on MacBooks. But the XPS 15 is my new favorite laptop, hands down. This is not to downplay the XPS 13, itself a fine ultra-portable machine with tremendous upside. The price on the 13-inch machine begins at just $799, and it provides a tremendous experience if you don't need the additional power or larger, better display of the 15-inch model.

Archive.org versionThe Dell XPS 13 2016 edition is a solid update to the XPS 13 with several desirable improvements over older XPS notebooks. The chassis design is attractive and well thought out. The available hardware configurations make perfect sense for a premium 13-inch Ultrabook. The battery life is more than good enough for most road warriors and once you get used to the atypical placement of the webcam and the weak speakers this turns out to be a fantastic notebook for web conferencing while on the go.

Archive.org versionThe latest version of the Dell XPS 13 continues to be a best-in-class laptop. It has a chassis that's smaller than the competition's, strong performance, and a great keyboard and touchpad. In the end, the XPS 13's biggest competition is itself. The quad-HD display on the touch-screen version is more colorful and vibrant, while the nontouch model lasts 4 hours longer on a charge.

Archive.org versionIn terms of Dell's total package here, For anyone seeking a thin and light ultrabook that doesn't compromise on performance, you really don't need to look any further than the XPS 13. Many competing manufacturer's products, such as the new Macbook or the ASUS Zenbook UX305, have paired down their processing power to a Core M chip to maintain a thin profile.

Archive.org versionThe XPS 13 is a welcome return to tip-top form for Dell. In fact, there’s only one thing that really bugs me about the XPS 13, and that’s Dell’s stubborn insistence on forcing dynamic contrast on at all times. It's a stupid decision, in my opinion. That aside, I absolutely love this thing. I could wish for a better GPU – yes, I really do want a slim, gorgeous ultraportable that also plays GTA V – but it'll be a few years until ultraportables routinely come with decent gaming-class graphics. As it stands, this is a powerful, light, lovely ultraportable that comes a hair’s breadth from perfection. I think I can settle for that.

Archive.org versionDell’s XPS 13 remains a worthwhile upgrade, and despite a year of competitive laptops, still easily our favorite. This supposedly minor refresh makes it even a little better. If you’re looking for the best compact ultrabook, you don’t have to look much further.

Archive.org versionThe Dell XPS 13 is a brilliantly-designed laptop that outperforms its competition under the hood. The Infinity Display should soon cause a ripple effect in laptop design and, on a personal level, dramatically improves your experience with the device.

Archive.org versionThe refreshed Dell XPS 13 doesn’t go too far from its predecessor in terms of design and build quality. Both are impeccable and make the whole experience using the notebook a delight. Also, the choice of materials not only makes the notebook look and feel great but also add to the incredible sturdiness of the machine. We cannot miss mentioning the incredibly low weight and overall dimensions since the laptop features almost frameless screen design.

Archive.org versionThe 2015 Dell XPS 13 is a well built, compact laptop that outdoes the obvious competition in some key respects such as screen quality and near-borderless display. Here is a 13.3-inch laptop that takes up little more space than an 11.6-inch model. The new 9350 model adds a non-touchscreen full HD option to the range, and means prices are now more affordable.

Archive.org versionDell's "prosumer" laptop gets a successful Intel Skylake refresh. The speedy processor is just one of many reasons to consider the XPS 13, with a stunning, near-borderless UHD+ display, exquisite build quality and a very capable webcam. Without wanting to downplay the importance of battery and storage, there are enough good things about the refreshed XPS 13 that living with its faults doesn't seem like a big price to pay. Of course, there is a very literal big price to pay, but even for that kind money you're getting a thin and light laptop with a gleaming new processor that can breeze through demanding tasks with the best of them - all while rendering in beautiful UHD+. It's not perfect, but it is our current favourite Skylake laptop.

Archive.org versionFor the last year, the Dell XPS 13 has been our favorite notebook, because it combined a slim, light and attractive design with excellent battery life at a good price. The latest version of Dell's premium 13-inch ultraportable adds a faster 6th-generation processor to a wonderfully compact design and lasts more than 9 hours on a charge.

Model: The tagline used by Dell to market the all new Dell XPS 13-9350 is "The smallest 13-inch laptop on the planet has the world's first virtually borderless InfinityEdge display". True enough the screen bezel measures just 5.2 mm on top and at the sides making it almost a borderless display. The CPU options are an Intel Core i3-6100U (lowest end) and a Intel Core i7-6600U (highest end) paired with 8 GB of RAM and a HD Graphics 520 drives the display. The display brings attractive colors and generates fairly vivid images. Colors and brightness remain stable from various viewing angles, since it is an IPS panel. However, it is difficult to read from the screen in the sun due to its limited brightness.
The design looks very modern and has a futuristic appearance with its matte black carbon fibre at the palm rest and input devices. The soft touch rubbery finish on the carbon fibre composite base goes easy on the palms and fingers. The notebook itself is steady and rivals most high grade models. The keyboard is backlit and comes with 2 brightness levels. The battery lasts about 7 hours 30 minutes during typical web surfing activity, which is good for an ultrabook. The features include Bluetooth 4.1 , two USB 3.0 ports, a 720p webcam, and a card reader.
Intel HD Graphics 520: Integrated GPU (GT2) with 24 EUs found on some Skylake CPU models (15 W ULV series).
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

6200U: Skylake-based ULV dual-core processor for thin notebooks and ultrabooks. Offers an integrated HD Graphics 520 GPU and is manufactured in 14 nm.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.
