Dell Precision 7510
The Dell Precision 7510 is a mobile workstation. The chassis is well-built, sleek looking and made from premium materials. Dell claims that the laptop is the world’s most powerful 15-inch workstation with 4K display. The Microsoft Windows 10 system features a 2.9 GHz Intel Xeon E3-1535M v5 processor, an Nvidia Quadro M2000M graphic card, 32 GB DDR4 SDRAM and a 512 Samsung SM951 M.2 NVMe SSD. Its 15.6-inch Ultrasharp UHD IGZO Wide View Anti-Glare display with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels is beautiful to look at. The keyboard features big keys, a backlight and is comfortable to type on, but the touchpad might not be convenient for some users. The 2.79 kg laptop features a thermal cooling system that keeps it cool and comfortable to use at all times. The connectivity includes four USB 3.0 ports with PowerShare feature, a Thunderbolt port, a mini DisplayPort, an HDMI port, a headphones / microphone combo jack and an optional card reader, which supports multiple formats like SD, SDHC, SDXC and allows adding up to 64 GB. Security features on the laptop include the Intel Platform Trust Technology, a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 1.2, a chassis lock slot support, either a contactless Smartcard reader and a fingerprint reader or a FIPS fingerprint reader, and optional Computrace.Specifications

The Dell Precision 7510 is a laptop for getting work done and banging out documents and spreadsheets. It’s also highly customizable, so it can fit your needs, whether they’re low enough for a Core i5 CPU or so demanding that you want a Xeon processor. Unfortunately, its default screen is dull and its weight makes it a burden to carry around (a drawback you can’t avoid in workstation notebooks).

Dell Precision 7730, i9-8950HK, Nvidia Quadro P5200
Most users would require a standard consumer laptop with an i5 or even an i7 processor with around 8 GB of RAM. The Dell precision 7730, on the other hand, is on the extreme side of the consumer laptop. Being in the Precision series, it is generally designed for industrial usage, i.e. for software simulations, heavy graphics processing and even heavy virtual reality simulations. For a start, this laptop is not ultra-portable or sleek. It tries to be one, but it definitely does not even get close to that. It weighs 3.17 kg, which is heavy even for something in its category. Most gaming laptops with ultra-high specs weigh much less than this. For a 17-inch laptop, it is also much wider and bigger than others in this category. With its carbon fiber lid and metal frame, the laptop certainly looks durable and shouts professional. The soft-touch panel on the inside gives off the XPS vibe, and its industrial silver and black colours provide a pleasant look for the eye. On the back side of the laptop are the aggressive dual vents meant for keeping this laptop cool even under pressure. There is a wide range of ports available in this laptop. On the right side are the Kensington lock, headphone/mic port and two USB 3.1 Type-A ports. On the left are a smart-card reader, an SD-card slot and two Thunderbolt 3 ports. The rear part houses an HDMI port, a mini DisplayPort, an Ethernet port, another USB 3.1 Type-A port and the DC power jack. In terms of hardware, Dell provides a lot of customizable options for it, but the base spec is good enough for some serious power users. There is an Intel Core i9 processor coupled with 32 GB of DDR4 RAM with a 512GB high-speed NAND flash drive. And if that is not enough, this laptop can be configured with an Intel Core Xeon processor and up to 64 GB of RAM. For those who are concerned about graphics, this laptop can be configured with an NVIDIA Quadro P5200, which has 16 GB of GDDR5 RAM.
The 17.3-inch display can be configured to sport a 4K resolution, which is not so common on laptops. The matte display is reportedly a very high quality display in terms of color accuracy and brightness. Running graphics right on the laptop screen is thus not a problem. The bezels around the screen, on the other hand, are an eyesore. In these bezel-less times, it is really hard to see something with this kind of borders surrounding the display. The laptop is shipped with Microsoft Windows 10 Pro by default. The chiclet style keyboard looks like one of those uncomfortable ultrabook keyboards, but make no mistake, the keyboard and number pad have been reported to be nice to use, even in long typing sessions. Its tactile and well backlit keys are also well-spaced. The track pad is relatively small but precise, and it registers multi-touch gestures accurately. Now, for the drawbacks: The Precision 7730 comes with a rather small battery. It only comes with a 97Wh 6-cell battery and, for a laptop with these specs, this certainly is not enough for long usage. Typical heavy usage might give just slightly over 4 hours of usage, which certainly is not food for portability. Though they might sound loud enough, the speakers are not particularly good for media playback. If used for applications that require some sound playback, it is highly advisable to connect them to an external speaker. The Dell Precision 7730, then, is a laptop made for a very specific type of user. Like other models in this range, the laptop is mostly purchased by big corporations for their Engineers or Designers. For that alone, this laptop is certainly one of the best out there, considering the support Dell gives for this laptop.

Dell's latest and finest 15.6-inch mobile workstation, the Precision 7560, is a massively powerful and configurable choice for complex designs and large datasets. Like the recently reviewed Lenovo ThinkPad P15 Gen 2 and not-yet-reviewed HP ZBook Fury 15 G8, the Dell Precision 7560 (starts at $2,449) is a flagship 15.6-inch mobile workstation, built to tackle the toughest jobs in computer-aided design (CAD), 3D rendering or CGI, and scientific and engineering analysis. Even at a steep $4,866, our test unit is one rung from the top of the ladder, with only one-quarter the maximum memory, one-sixth the maximum storage, and an 11th Generation Intel Core i7 instead of Core i9 or Xeon processor plus Nvidia's RTX A4000 instead of A5000 professional GPU. But it's a formidable performer and a fine system to have in your corner when there's difficult work to be done.

Dell is a master of heavy-duty laptops. The Precision 15 7560 is one such device. It has a ton of performance, a decent-enough cooling solution (at least significantly better than the lower tier Precision laptops), and ground-breaking battery life. We are talking about more than 16 hours of Web browsing or nearly 12 hours of video playback. Okay, but what are the downsides of this device. Honestly, the biggest one might just be that the laptop is a bit impractical. It is a bit clunky, but at the same time, it has so much performance. Getting this machine is definitely worth it, provided that you take advantage of our Gaming and Web design profile.

In addition, Dell uses CAMM for memory. This gives you support for up to 128GB of DDR5 RAM. If you are a bit more of a traditionalist, you can buy yourself an adapter, that fits SODIMMs. Only then, the maximum memory will be limited to 64GB. Since we covered the situation on the inside, let us tell you about the outside ports – there are two Thunderbolt 4 ports, an HDMI connector, an SD card slot, a LAN port, and plenty of other USBs. Some models even feature 5G support, but the SIM card slot is on the inside. Dell really needs something up its sleeve to cover the shameful cooling. Enter the IR face recognition, the optional fingerprint reader, the privacy shutter, and the array of sensors, that enable the magical Awake and Log out functions. To be completely frank, we can’t recommend you a laptop that can’t deliver on its promises. In our opinion, it would be a good idea to check out the ASUS ProArt Studiobook 16 OLED (W7600).
