Reviews for the Dell Latitude 7390-XPWYP 2-in-1

Dell Latitude 7390 2-in-1 review – tiny performance beast with a brilliant touchscreen display
Source: Laptop Media English Archive.org version
Although the Latitude 13 7390 2-in-1 is sold with the whole U series range, we are glad that we got our hands on a unit equipped with a Core i5-8250U processor. We found it to be the perfect business solution – being super responsive. Moreover, the CPU in this device performed better than some of its larger competitors, which can rely on bigger and more effective cooling solutions, like the Lenovo IdeaPad 520, for example.

Series: The Dell Latitude 7300 knocks things straight out of the park by ticking a lot of the boxes from a list of essential specifications most commonly sought in a superb working laptop model. The Dell Latitude 7300 currently holds the record for being the world’s smallest premium business-class notebook with just capping at an approximated maximum of 13 inch in size and length. The Dell Latitude 7300’s clean and immaculate appearance is definitely something to vie for, not to mention that it also houses a few tricks up its ports and sleeves for hasty users to secure the fastest Internet connection within their immediate proximity.

First of all, as mentioned before, the Dell Latitude 7300 is only measured up to an approximated 13 inch in total, it also welcomes you to a smarter design, which can be traced with the tip of a finger. For instance, the improved screen of the Dell Latitude 7300 consists of a four-sided narrow border panel with an anti-glare matte finish. The four-sided narrow border not only magnifies the screen-to-body ratio percentage of the Dell Latitude 7300 for better immersion, but the anti-glare matte screen can effectively prevent reflection of light sourced from the backlight of a bright environment. This makes the Dell Latitude 7300 convenient to be operated at wherever and whenever users desire should they intend to bring work from home or to a quick getaway at the nearest beach.

The Dell Latitude 7300 comes equipped with the state-of-the-art 8th generation Intel Core i7-8665U processor. The Intel Core i7-8665U is a power efficient quad-core unit, which can be commonly found in the latest releases of high-end notebooks or ultrabooks in the scene. This processor unit offers a higher clock speed up to 4,800 MHz upon the activation of Turbo mode thanks to its production using the 14 nm process.

The physical design of the laptop itself can be chosen from two available alternatives between a chassis with new aluminum finish or formed from durable carbon fiber weave depending on the one’s taste. The new aluminum finish exudes a strong and illustrious business executive vibe, which is perfect to be brought into a workplace or wherever just to highlight on one’s career and identity. The carbon fiber weave finish creates a more aesthetically-pleasing look, which adds a certain kind of extra flavor to the overall presentation of the Dell Latitude 7300. All in all, the design of both physical variations are impressively done with hardly any visible flaw to point out.

Intel UHD Graphics 620: Integrated GPU (GT2, 24 EUs) found on some Kaby-Lake-Refresh CPU models (15 W ULV series). Technically identical to the previous Kaby-Lake GPU called HD Graphics 620.

Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

i5-8250U: Kaby-Lake-Refresh based low power quad-core processor. The four cores are clocked between 1.6 and 3.4 GHz (Turbo Boost) and support HyperThreading. The integrated GPU is clocked between 300 and 1,100 MHz. The SoC is manufactured in a 14nm+ FinFET process. » Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.

There are hardly any tablets in this display size range anymore. For subnotebooks, on the other hand, it is the standard format.

The advantage of subnotebooks is that the entire laptop can be small and therefore easily portable. The smaller display also has the advantage of requiring less power, which further improves battery life and thus mobility. The disadvantage is that reading texts is more strenuous on the eyes. High resolutions are more likely to be found in standard laptops.
