Dell is introducing new Inspiron laptops powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Plus SoCs, the Inspiron 14 and the Inspiron 14 Plus 7441. Leaks so far have indicated the Inspiron 14 Plus 7441 to sport Snapdragon X1 Elite SoCs, but today's announcement indicates that the lineup will only offer X Plus chips.
The exact differences between the Inspiron 14 and the Inspiron 14 Plus are unclear as Dell hasn't talked much about the base Inspiron 14. The Inspiron 14 Plus 7441, on the other hand, is powered by the Snapdragon X1 Plus X1P-64-100 SoC that boasts 10 cores with 3.4 GHz boost clocks along with an integrated Adreno GPU and a Hexagon NPU.
The Inspiron 14 Plus sports a 14-inch QHD+ (2560 x 1600) Dolby Vision 400 nits IPS touchscreen. Complementing the Snapdragon X1 Plus is 16 GB LPDDR5X-8448 RAM and a 512 GB/1 TB NVMe SSD. Most other aspects are identical to the Meteor Lake-powered Inspiron 14 Plus 7440 (US$1,099.99 on Dell).
Unlike the XPS 13 9345, the Inspiron 14 Plus 7441 offers a USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A port, a microSD card reader, and a headphone jack in addition to the 2x USB4 Gen 3 Type-C ports. Qualcomm FastConnect 7800 Wi-Fi 7 with Bluetooth 5.4 takes care of networking. Powering the ARM laptop is a 54 Whr battery charged using a 65 W Type-C power adapter.
The new Dell Inspiron 14 Plus 7441 will be available to pre-order today starting from US$1,099 with availability later this year. Pricing and availability of the Inspiron 14 is yet to be disclosed.
