IFA 2024 | Dell Inspiron 14 5441 now available for $899 with new Snapdragon X Plus X1P-42-100 SoC
Dell introduced the Inspiron 14 and Inspiron 14 Plus laptops in May this year powered by Snapdragon X Plus SoCs. Although launched together, Dell focused only on the Inspiron 14 Plus 7441 back then. Now, at IFA 2024, Dell is also detailing the base Inspiron 14 5441 along with updates on pricing and availability.
The Inspiron 14 5441 offers two SoC options: a 10-core Snapdragon X Plus X1P-64-100 and an 8-core Snapdragon X Plus X1P-42-100. The X1P-42-100 is a new Snapdragon X Plus chip introduced at IFA 2024 alongside the X1P-46-100.
Specifications for the base Inspiron 14 model are largely similar to its Plus cousin. The primary differences in the base model are a 14-inch FHD+ display instead of QHD+ and the use of a 3-cell battery instead of a 4-cell one. The overall battery capacity is still specified at 54 Whr, however. Interestingly, the Inspiron 14 5441 is slightly thicker at 0.7 inches and a tad bit heavier at 1.49 kg compared to the Inspiron 14 Plus 7441's 1.4 kg weight.
Port selection is identical between the two Inspiron 14s with 2x USB4 Type-C 40 Gbps, 1x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, a microSD card reader, and a headset jack. Networking needs are handled by a Qualcomm FastConnect 7800 Wi-Fi 7 WLAN card with Bluetooth 5.4.
Pricing starts from US$899 for the Dell Inspiron 14 5441 with retail availability from September 24. The Inspiron 14 Plus 7441, on the other hand, will set you back by US$1,099.
