After catching the Cybertruck in preparation to be wrapped as a regular Ford F-150 truck, the final ICE pickup camouflage effort has appeared outside on the streets. The Cybertruck here is dressed as a blue F-150 in what seems to be a marketing masterstroke.

Tesla has been swapping the test mule suits of its first electric pickup prototypes very often lately and the Cybertruck has been caught on the streets with at least two different camouflage outfits already. Recently, however, the Cybertruck has been snapped with its smallish frunk open in what seems a camouflage that mimics the looks of the world's most popular pickup truck line, Ford's F-150.

A Cybertruck playing dress-up with the Ford F-150 looks seems to be either a master level of trolling that Elon Musk is rather adept at, or a way to get the pickup community buzzing and talking about Tesla's electric alternative to their beloved trucks. At the time, the F-150 wrapper was snapped from afar and as a work in progress, but now the Cybertruck has been caught outside in a full blue F-150 camo that would be fooling nobody given the angular stainless steel body of Tesla's electric truck.

It remains to be seen what reaction this Ford-ified Cybertruck will meet on the streets, but Tesla already announced the first production model that it calls a Release Candidate coming off the production line at its Texas Gigafactory. Elon Musk reiterated during the last Q2 conference call that the Cybertruck's launch event is expected to be held in September, and Tesla will gradually ramp up its production into next year.

The automaker needs to address the long list of people waiting for delivery and some analysts remind that it has tasked suppliers to prepare for a very high magnitude of orders. The expected US$60,000 average price, however, may put many a Cybertruck fan off, so the final preorder tally may shrink significantly between now and the date of the first Cybertruck deliveries.
