Cybertruck acceleration and possible towing test caught in the wild
Tesla keeps testing the Cybertruck on the roads in California and in cold weather conditions down in New Zealand where it's now the winter season with heavy snow to boot.
Near San Jose, a video of the Cybertruck's acceleration chops has been recorded in the wild while the test mule driver tries to pull ahead in traffic from a steady highway speed. As can be expected from an EV that can accelerate in less than three seconds, it seems to go really fast for a heavy pickup truck made of stainless steel.
The Cybertruck's official horsepower rating won't be revealed before next month when Elon Musk said Tesla will do a grand launch event. Tesla's dedicated website does divulge some Cybertruck specs such as "torque - enabling acceleration from 0-60 mph in as little as 2.9 seconds," or "a towing capability of over 14,000 pounds."
Said towing capability may be in testing right now on the other end of the globe, in New Zealand where Tesla has sent a few Cybertrucks and the upcoming Model 3 Highland refresh for winter testing rounds. There, a skier who was passing near the Southern Hemisphere Proving Grounds location managed to catch a few distant shots from the fence and go on their merry way without being noticed by the site's security.
They mention that Tesla had no less than than five Cybertruck units performing various snowy road tests, just as the Model 3 Highland cars there, next to the rest of Tesla's roster. On one of the pictures, the Cybertruck seems to be parked next to a testing trailer of sorts, on which eagle-eyed Tesla pundit Greggertruck noticed weight stacks.
These may be used to probe various balancing situations while towing with the Cybertruck or other Tesla models in the snow. Tesla could then decide how to adjust the suspension or drivetrain reactions accordingly, before releasing the electric pickup to the general public later this year.

I think they may be doing some cold-weather tow testing with Cybertruck in New Zealand.
