Cooler Master's power-monitoring GPU adapter arrives in the US

Cooler Master has launched its GPU Shield Adapter in the US, offering an additional layer of protection for graphics cards. The device is an in-line unit that sits between a power supply's cable and a graphics card's 12V-2x6 (12+4-pin) connector, working with any PSU brand rather than requiring a Cooler Master-specific unit.

The adapter monitors current in real time, using a multicoloured LED ring to provide real-time information and an integrated alarm that flags abnormal currents before triggering a protective step-down in power to limit further damage. Dual-coloured connector tips at each end allow users to visually confirm if the plug is fully seated, and a roughly 200mm cable is included to accommodate typical case layouts.

The GPU Shield Adapter is now available directly from Cooler Master in the US for $49.99, with orders shipping from California. However, the US version comes with only a one-year warranty, notably shorter than the three-year warranty offered with the Chinese-market version.
