The Gigabyte Aero X16 gaming laptop with the RTX 5070 laptop GPU, an 8-core Ryzen AI 7 350 CPU, 32 GB of expandable RAM, and 1 TB of upgradable storage has been discounted by over $400. The new sales price is a new record-low, making the sleek 16-incher an interesting option for budget-conscious gamers.

Earlier this month, we reported that the RTX 5070-powered Gigabyte Aero X16 gaming laptop was retailing for $1,299.99 at Best Buy. The price was the lowest ever for the laptop. However, if you were waiting for an even better deal, you are in luck, as Best Buy is now offering the laptop at an even better price.

The Gigabyte Aero X16 (2025) gaming laptop with the RTX 5070 is now only $1,199.99, a new record-low. The notebook is also available at the same price on eBay.

Looking at the hardware, the Gigabyte Aero X16 combines the RTX 5070 with the AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 APU, 32 GB of DDR5-5600 memory, 1 TB of PCIe Gen 4 storage, and a 16-inch QHD+ IPS display. The laptop also carries a Wi-Fi 6E module with BT 5.2, a 76 Wh battery, and an RGB-backlit keyboard. Other notable components include a mix of Type-A, USB 4 ports, HDMI 2.1, and a 3.5 mm audio jack.

We reviewed the Gigabyte Aero X16 on sale a few months back and found that the laptop, for the most part, is a pretty good machine. The plastic chassis is sturdy, quite sleek for a 16-inch gaming laptop, and offers plenty of room for storage and RAM upgrades. Thanks to the inclusion of two SO-DIMM and M.2 slots, you can deck out the Gigabyte Aero X16 with a total of 64 GB of DDR5 memory and 4 TB of storage. However, since the model on sale already comes with 32 GB of memory, you might only want to upgrade the storage.

When it comes to performance, the combination of the RTX 5070 and the Ryzen AI 7 350 proved to be more than enough for QHD gaming in our review. However, the RTX 5070 was one of our biggest complaints, as, at full retail, the GPU’s performance doesn’t justify the Gigabyte Aero X16’s price. At $450 less than the list price, the Gigabyte Aero X16 is a much better deal.

That said, if you want a 16-inch gaming laptop that offers much better performance and more VRAM, the Asus ROG Strix G16 with the RTX 5070 Ti is also on sale at Best Buy. If you want better performance in an overall much better package, there is also the discounted ROG Zephyrus G14.

Moving on to the display, the 16-inch QHD+ panel on the Gigabyte Aero X16 made a very positive impression on us. Our measurements showed 96% sRGB coverage, 400 nits of max brightness, good contrast, and accurate colors right out of the box. Coupled with a matte coating to reduce glare and a 165 Hz refresh rate, the Gigabyte Aero X16 has a pretty awesome gaming panel.

Finally, the Gigabyte Aero X16 handles heat well without producing much noise during everyday use. The battery life of the laptop, however, is just average.

Long story short, while the Gigabyte Aero X16 doesn’t stand out in the market of large-screen gaming laptops, the latest price drop has made the laptop a worthy option for QHD gaming.
