Colors for the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 9 unveiled, including one that will appeal to unicorn lovers

Xiaomi has been busy revealing details of the forthcoming Mi 9 smartphone. We already reported on the camera specifications of the flagship smartphone that the OEM recently announced, and now we have the colors that fans of the Mi range can choose from. Obviously there’s black, but not a boring black. It’s a glossy black that definitely lends some sophistication to the device.

For fans of the color blue, there is that option too. Unsurprisingly, Xiaomi hasn’t just chosen a matte dark blue that many manufacturers plump for when deciding on alternatives to black. The Chinese firm has picked a bright shade of blue that appears to be highly reflective and seems to have a gradient finish. Obviously, these are stylized images of the Xiaomi Mi 9 so it will be interesting to see how the blue and black variants look in the hand.

Then we have the Mi 9 for unicorn fans, presuming Xiaomi used the “unicorn face” emoji to denote the magical nature of the legendary beast (as opposed to something from the urban dictionary). It’s difficult to separate the colors involved here: pink is present, a splash of purple perhaps, hues of lavender, hints of violet, a sparkle of unicorn maybe. It’s a unique choice that will undoubtedly find its supporters in future Xiaomi Mi 9 buyers.
