Casio’s new limited-edition G-Shock x BlackEyePatch DW-5600 launches in the US

After making its debut earlier this month in Japan and the subsequent UK launch, Casio’s latest G-Shock collaboration has officially landed in the US. The limited-edition watch is based on the classic DW-5600, but swaps its usual understated look for a decidedly louder all-gold design.

The G-Shock x BlackEyePatch DW-5600BEP-9 is priced at $165 in the US. However, it’s not actually available to order just yet, with Casio’s product page currently showing a “Notify Me” button that you can use to sign up for email notifications when the watch becomes available for purchase.

The G-Shock DW-5600BEP-9 is the third collaboration between Casio’s G-Shock line and Tokyo streetwear brand BlackEyePatch. Built around the same square design that traces its roots back to the original DW-5000, the new model leans into the streetwear label’s hip-hop-inspired aesthetic with a gold-tone case and matching band.

The gold finish is paired with a black face and negative LCD, which uses yellow digits to match the rest of the watch. BlackEyePatch branding appears prominently above the display, while the case back gets an engraved version of the brand’s logo. There’s also a transparent band keeper, adding another small detail to the otherwise monochromatic design. The transparent band keeper adds a neat touch without feeling out of place with the overall aesthetic of the watch.

As you'd expect, the watch is offered in special packaging, with a black box emblazoned with the phrase “Time Is Money” in oversized white lettering.

In terms of features, the DW-5600BEP-9 remains a familiar G-Shock. It’s shock-resistant and boasts up to 200 meters of water resistance, while also offering a solid list of practical timekeeping features. These include a 1/100-second stopwatch, 24-hour countdown timer, multifunction alarm, hourly time signal, LED backlight, and full auto-calendar. Casio claims around five years of battery life from a CR2016 battery.

The DW-5600BEP-9 measures 48.9 × 42.8 × 13.4mm and weighs 53g and comes equipped with a resin case and bezel.
