Casio’s fabric-strap F-91WF sees a wider rollout

Casio has steadily expanded its new fabric-strap F-91WF series into more markets since its debut in Japan in August. After making its way to the US, Europe, and several Asian countries, the F-91WF has now officially landed in India.

The Casio F-91WF-1A in black, F-91WF-2A in navy blue, and F-91WF-3A in olive green are now listed on Casio India’s website. As we saw with the US and European launches, swapping plastic for woven fabric comes with a steep premium. All three models are priced at ₹2,195 (~$23)—roughly twice as much as the standard resin F-91W models. For reference, the classic F-91W-1 can be had for just ₹1,295.

The watches aren’t available to purchase online just yet, as the buy buttons are currently missing from the product pages. But that’s expected to change soon, with all three models set to go on sale through Casio’s online store and authorized retailers across the country.

For the most part, the F-91WF is the same little digital watch that has been around for decades. It retains the familiar, compact 38.2 x 35.2 x 8.5mm resin case and stays impressively featherweight at 21g, while offering the same classic features, including a digital display, LED light, daily alarm, hourly time signal, automatic calendar, and 1/100-second stopwatch, and that famous seven-year battery life.

The biggest upgrade is the strap. Casio has replaced the familiar resin band with a woven fabric strap made from recycled PET fibers, which the company claims is designed to resist scratches and stains, giving the humble F-91W a slightly more considered look without changing its fundamental character.
