Casio’s highly anticipated upcoming G-Shock collab with NBA player Rui Hachimura, the GM-5600RH-1, has seen a slight shift in its launch schedule. Originally expected in August 2025, the watch is now set for release in September, according to new updates from Japanese blog Great G-Shock World.
For reference, the GM-5600RH-1 is the fifth entry in the Rui Hachimura x G-Shock series. Early leaks in July were pointing towards an August debut, with some promotional materials already circulating online. However, the absence of an official release during Casio’s regular Friday launch cycle added more fire to the speculation of a delay, which now appears to be confirmed.
Based on the familiar GM-5600U metal-case variant, the GM-5600RH-1 will sport the classic square G-Shock silhouette with Rui Hachimura’s personal branding. The watch uses a brushed black bezel, a negative LCD with red highlights, and a matching strap keeper engraved with Rui’s "H" logo. The caseback also looks to have an engraving. This would be the fifth Rui Hachimura G-Shock release, following earlier resin-based models that had bolder colors and matching accents.
As with any GM-5600U model, the new watch will likely include the standard suite of G-Shock features: stopwatch, timer, alarm, backlight, and 200-meter water resistance. Owners can also swap straps with models like the GA-2100 and GM-5600U.
The GM-5600RH-1 will ship in a Rui Hachimura-branded box and round metal case with his red logo. As per reports, Casio has priced the watch at ¥39,600 in Japan, which roughly converts to €279 or $268. Global release details are still unconfirmed, however. Previous Hachimura editions have often been Japan-limited, with select international availability. If the Japanese company follows the same approach, the GM-5600RH-1 may be hard to get outside its domestic market.
