Xiaomi appears to be expanding its global tablet portfolio under its affordable "POCO" sub-brand. Following leaks of the rumored Poco Pad X1, an even more budget-friendly model, the Poco Pad M1, has now surfaced, confirming a continuation of one of Xiaomi’s most confusing release strategies: rebranding.
The Poco Pad M1 recently appeared on the Geekbench benchmark database. The key specifications listed there strongly suggest that the M1 will be a renamed version of the previously announced Redmi Pad 2 Pro, which Xiaomi also recently launched in the global market. For those unfamiliar with Xiaomi’s launch habits, introducing an identical tablet under a different brand name might seem unusual. But the company has routinely done this for years with its entry-level and mid-range Redmi and POCO smartphones.
Poco Pad M1 leaked specs confirm a Redmi Pad 2 Pro rebrand
Spotted by tech tipster Abhishek Yadav, the Geekbench filing confirms the Poco Pad M1’s technical details, matching the Redmi Pad 2 Pro exactly. The tablet runs on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chip, featuring a CPU configuration that includes one core clocked at 2.71GHz and an Adreno 810 GPU for graphics processing. The listing also specified that the device runs Android 15 and includes 8GB of RAM.
While this rebranding ensures that the Redmi Pad 2 Pro's solid specs reach the POCO tablet audience, it may add another layer of confusion for consumers trying to compare models.
There are no official details yet on the tablet’s launch date. However, its listing in a benchmark database typically signals that an official announcement from Xiaomi is imminent. POCO fans who want a tablet with a known, budget-friendly set of specifications will likely not have to wait long.
