Deal | Budget Lenovo tablet with 2.5K 90 Hz display and 8 GB RAM sees $130 price cut

Folks on the lookout for a budget-oriented tablet will be pleased to note that the Lenovo Idea Tab Plus is now available for an all-time low price over on Best Buy's website, coming in at just under $210 courtesy of a $130 discount.

The Idea Tab Plus is very much a no-frills tablet that aims squarely at the affordability-first segment. The 12.1-inch tablet comes equipped with a 2.5K pixel-dense display, 8 GB of RAM, and a healthy 128 GB of storage.

According to our in-depth review of the Lenovo tablet, the Dimensity 6400 SoC powering the tablet does a fairly decent job handling day-to-day tasks, but won't be setting any new benchmarks records. 

The lower-mid-range SoC manages to barely breach the 2,000-point mark in Geekbench 6, putting it well behind the Idea Tab Pro (currently $290 on Lenovo US).

Gaming at low settings is doable on the tablet, and provides a fairly enjoyable experience. However, high-end gaming is simply not well-suited for the Idea Tab Plus' humble Mali G57 MP2 iGPU.

The 12.1-inch IPS display gets fairly bright, at 600 nits. It sports a resolution of 2560 x 1600, allowing for an impressive pixel density of around 249 PPI. We were very pleased to note that the Idea Tab Plus covers the entire sRGB color gamut with very admirable color accuracy out of the box.

The 90 Hz refresh rate definitely helps a lot with motion elements compared to typical 60 Hz panels.

Courtesy of its 10,200-mAh battery and modest internals, the Idea Tab Plus impressed in our battery life test, lasting almost 15 hours in the WiFi web browsing test. The tablet's audio system is also very decent, featuring a four-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos certification.

Other notable details of the Lenovo Idea Tab Plus include a 30 MP rear camera and 8 MP front camera, a USB-C port with USB 2.0 speeds, Bluetooth 5.2, WiFi 5, and 45-watt fast charging among others.

All told, the Lenovo Idea Tab Plus, at its current price, offers very respectable value for folks who care about display quality and battery life over raw performance. Interested folks are definitely advised to check out our detailed review of the tablet before pulling the trigger.
