BioWare announces minimum specs for Mass Effect Legendary Edition
BioWare’s Mass Effect trilogy is one of the most impactful RGP’s in the PC space in recent memory. With the remaster (titled Mass Effect Legendary Edition) landing on PCs in May, BioWare has announced the minimum and recommended specifications to give gamers enough time to upgrade their rigs.
The minimum specifications are fairly modest:
- CPU: Intel Core i5-3570 or an AMD FX-8350
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 760, AMD Radeon 7970, or AMD Radeon R9 280X (2 GB VRAM or higher)
- RAM: 8 GB
- Storage: 120 GB
The recommended specifications are quite a bit higher (and may be harder to come by for those that don’t already meet them):
- CPU: Intel Core i7-7700 or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 or AMD Radeon Vega 56 GPU (4 GB of VRAM or higher)
- RAM: 16 GB
- Storage: 120 GB
Considering the ongoing GPU shortage (and the resultant price hikes for graphics cards), prospective players that don’t already meet these requirements will have to weigh the high cost of a new GPU versus playing the remaster. They will have until the game releases on May 14th to make that decision.
Preorder Mass Effect Legendary Edition for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.
