Earlier in July, we reported that B&H Photo was selling the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i 16 Gen 10 gaming laptop with an RTX 5090 GPU and a Core Ultra 9 275HX CPU for $3,399.99. While this particular offer is gone, you can now snag yourself a better configuration of the Legion Pro 7i Gen 10 directly from Lenovo for even cheaper.
The Lenovo Legion Pro 7i gaming laptop under discussion packs the same powerful combo of an RTX 5090 GPU and a Core Ultra 9 275HX CPU, but comes with 64 GB of memory. More importantly, the laptop is retailing at a reduced price of $3,163.49, an impressive 30% discount vs the $4,555 list price. The discounted price is reached when you stack the coupon codes LENOVOLIVE10 and EXTRAFIVE at checkout.
Aside from the internals already mentioned, the Legion Pro 7i 16 also carries an expansive 16-inch 2560 x 1600 OLED display with a snappy 240 Hz refresh rate. Lenovo claims the display covers 100% DCI-P3 and can get up to 500 nits bright. Our review of the RTX 5080 version of the Legion Pro 7i confirms these claims, while also revealing 94% AdobeRGB coverage and good factory calibration. So, the laptop is quite ready for both gaming and heavy-duty creative work.
Talking about work, the combination of the RTX 5090 and the Core Ultra 9 275HX means that the Legion Pro 7i 16 Gen 10 is fully equipped to play whatever game you can throw at it at the maximum settings. For instance, our testing of the RTX 5080 laptop inside the Legion Pro 7i shows that the machine can run demanding games like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty at 100 FPS at QHD/ultra. Since the RTX 5090 is a good 15% than the RTX 5080, per our 3DMark Time Spy Graphics result, smooth 4K gaming is also very much possible.
However, extreme performance means extreme heat, and the Legion Pro 7i, although equipped with a beefy cooling solution, can get fairly warm under full load. So, you might not want to place the laptop on your lap while gaming.
Unsurprisingly, the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i is not a battery champ either. The 99 Wh battery only lasted for around 5 hours and 23 minutes in our Wi-Fi websurfing test.
Simply put, if you want uncompromising gaming performance and don’t mind the bulk or the short battery life, the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i 16 Gen 10 is a true beast. For $3,163, it is a pretty solid value.
