Ayaneo announces imminent launch of Pocket S2 gaming handheld

Ayaneo has finally announced the launch date of the Pocket S2. This gaming handheld with the Snapdragon G3 Gen 3 SoC is launching on June 18, 2025, but the company has yet to confirm the device's price range. Looking back, the company showcased the device at the Game Developers Conference 2025 (GDC 2025), and during the showcase, it highlighted a couple of upgrades.

The SoC is one of them, and the Snapdragon G3 Gen 3 is said to bring a noticeable performance upgrade over the G3X Gen 2 that powered the Pocket S. More specifically, Qualcomm highlighted a 28% improvement in terms of the GPU and a 30% boost in terms of the CPU.

Besides the SoC, the Pocket S2 comes with a slightly larger screen than its predecessor. It features a 6.3-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, and the panel has a peak brightness rating of 600 nits. The battery has also seen an upgrade from 6,000 mAh to 8,000 mAh (24K Anker 737 power bank curr. $109.99 on Amazon).

Another notable aspect of the Pocket S2 is the upgraded cooling setup, which is said to have comprehensive optimizations for the SoC to perform well under loads. Ayaneo also highlights the UFS 4.0 storage that's found in the higher-end configurations of the gaming handheld, and as for the RAM, it's LPDDR5X-8533.

Among the other highlights are electromagnetic joysticks, CNC metal mid-frame, and availability in two color options. While the price range has yet to be revealed, it's expected to start at around $600. Check out the video attached below to learn more about the Ayaneo Pocket S2.
