Much has been said about the release of the Asus Zenfone 8 series. Asus launched the Zenfone 7 and Zenfone 7 Pro back in September and is already set to follow the duo up with the next generation of premium phones in the series. The company has now also confirmed a release date for the new devices.
In a teaser image revealed yesterday, Asus confirmed that the Zenfone 8 series will be released on May 12. The image uses the tagline, "Big on Performance, Compact in Size". That essentially slams a stamp of confirmation on the existence of the Zenfone 8 Mini, a device that has made the rounds on the front pages of tech media numerous times over the past month.
Details of the Zenfone 8 Mini remain elusive, but a Snapdragon 888 is a certainty, and Geekbench appearances also point towards 8 GB of RAM. The Zenfone 8 Mini is expected to sport a 5.9-inch display, likely a 120 Hz OLED. That wouldn't have been considered compact a few years ago but times have changed.
