The one I’d strongly recommend is the machine with the QHD 165Hz display, Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 GPU and Moonlight White colour scheme. That’s the optimum combination of performance and value and will get you a gaming laptop that can produce higher frame rates at 1080p than any other RTX 3060-based machine we’ve seen. Add to that the catwalk good looks, tough construction and premium features such as the MUX switch and G-Sync technology and consider that you’ll still get a penny change from £1,400, then what more can you ask for? It’s a fantastic gaming all-rounder.

Once again, I wish its base model had a 100% sRGB color gamut too, but I guess that’s too much to ask for in the mid-range segment. So if you’re a gamer or even a content creator looking to buy a new laptop at this price range, I feel confident recommending the TUF F15 to you. ASUS TUF Gaming F15 FX507 review – there are too many versions

This review requires that we make an exception. Due to different cooling components, two versions of the same laptop might be a great and a not-so-great choice. The RTX 3050 device which we had with us shows a very capable performance in real life. Games at 1080p resolution won’t be a problem. However, long gaming sessions will result in high noise and not a super comfortable temperature for the GPU (not to be mistaken with the external temperature, which is pretty good). In addition, we found out that the CPU can’t keep its high clocks for long periods of time, which may not be ideal for people who are into video editing, or 3D modeling. ASUS TUF Gaming F15 FX507’s IPS panel has a Full HD resolution, comfortable viewing angles, and a good contrast ratio. Its backlight doesn’t use PWM for brightness adjustment. This is great if you are planning to have long gaming sessions. On the other hand, the color coverage is limited to only 56% of the sRGB color gamut. In addition despite the 144Hz refresh rate, pixel response times are slow, which will result in ghosting. Yet again, you can still choose the other options, all of which should be pretty good. Let’s also not forget to mention the presence of a MUX switch. It will improve your fps in pretty much every game. In terms of autonomy, the battery lasts about 8 hours of Web browsing or 6 hours of video playback. This is a pretty fine result for a laptop in this class. Combine it with a great keyboard and touchpad, and you get a fantastic everyday device. We have to mention that some models will feature DDR4 RAM, while others will be with DDR5 memory. Why? We don’t know. What we do know is that there are two SODIMM slots for memory, and two M.2 PCIe x4 slots for storage. Both of the storage slots support Gen 4 SSDs, which is a bit of good news. Well, the port selection lacks an SD card reader but makes up for it with enough USB Type-As, a LAN port, HDMI 2.0b, and a Thunderbolt 4 connector. At the end of the day, we can tell you that buying the TUF F15 FX507 is worth it.

In addition, you get a real HDMI 2.1 connector, a LAN port, and an Audio jack. What we’re missing is an SD card reader. On the bright side, the port situation on the inside is good too. You get two DDR4 SODIMM slots for memory expansion and two M.2 PCIe x4 slots for Gen 4 SSDs. Let’s not forget the great battery life. We got about 13 hours of Web browsing, or nearly 11 hours and 30 minutes of video playback. This is an outstanding result for a gaming machine. However, you have to keep in mind that there is one setting that needs to be enabled. We’re talking about the adaptive display, which can run at 144Hz, as well as at 60Hz.
