All said and done, if your heart is set on the TUF A15 then I would highly recommend investing in a cooling pad for gamers. If you plan to get it for content creation, then adding a colour accurate external monitor is highly recommended too, because there is no way you could work on this laptop without worrying that you messed up the colours because of an inaccurate display.

Some units pack a 90Wh battery, which should provide great screen-on times, but on the other hand, it lacks the 2.5-inch SATA drive bay. Respectively, the 48Wh unit provides horrendous battery life but enables the option of further storage expansion. On the bright side, there are still two M.2 NVMe slots for SSDs, and two RAM SODIMM slots for up to 64GB of DDR4 memory in dual-channel mode.

Depending on how much money you’re willing to spend on a gaming machine, you can have it as a modest laptop with Core i5-11260H and GeForce RTX 3050 or it could be a decent notebook with Intel Core i9-11900H/Core i7-11800H and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060. As we said earlier, we like the fact that the device design isn’t too intrusive and it doesn’t scream in front of your face “I am a gaming machine”. Maybe you can use it in the park without drawing too much unwanted attention.

However, don’t expect it to compete with some newer models like the MSI Katana 15 (with RTX 4070 GPU) in gaming performance, or look as beautiful as they are. You’ll be able to run games without a hiccup. While the webcam, touchpad, and speakers may be secondary concerns for some PC gamers, those who will be using this for productivity may want to consider other options than the Gaming F15. The MSI Cyborg 15 excels at both productivity and gaming, thanks to a 12th Gen Intel Core i5-12650H processor and GeForce RTX 4060 GPU. If your budget can flex a little, the MSI Pulse 15 is an even better alternative, packing a 13th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 GPU, 16GB RAM, and 1TB SSD storage, and still in the under $2,000 price range.

Summing up this review, there are surely better laptops with better specifications out there, but you will also have to pay double or even triple the price for the next steps up. With this ASUS TUF F15 edition, you are getting the balance of the performance and price, as well as the new Windows 11 operating system. You can play a lot of games on this laptop without breaking your bank. And I think, it will be hard to find a cheaper gaming laptop that has a 144Hz screen for this price. We recommend this laptop to anyone who is just getting into gaming and productivity. All in all the FX506LH-AS51 is worth the money during this difficult time and chip delivery crisis.

i7-10870H: A higher-end, octa-core processor of the Comet Lake product family.
