The Asus ROG Zephyrus S GX701 is one of the best gaming laptops ever made, but the high level of performance and gorgeous thin and light design comes at a very high price, which makes it unaffordable for many people.

Model: Let’s assume you have a good amount of money sitting in your pocket and waiting for you to spend it. But you don’t know what to buy. At the same time, you happen to be a gamer and you want something extravagant even though you won’t be needing everything too much. Look no further. The Asus Zephyrus S GX701 will not just help you spend the money in your pocket, it will also help you enjoy your games in ultra settings available.
144 Hz screen, check. 32 GB RAM, check. 1 TB SSD, check. Very high performance RTX 2080 GPU, check. Latest generation Intel 9750H CPU, check. What else would you be looking for? Oh, 2.6 kg of weight will definitely help you with the mobility. So, you can play your games whenever you want. Of course, one thing I am missing is a 4K screen. But again, with the current price of over 3,000 Euro, I guess a 144 Hz 4K screen would make it cost a lot more. But if you have the money for this configuration, I am pretty sure, you can find the money for that as well. What I am trying to state is this laptop is a luxury for some. Can you get the same specs for cheaper? I mean, it comes down to trade offs. 1 TB SSD and 32 GB RAM is something that most people would not be needing. If you are not dealing with video editing or raw imagery, 1 TB SSD is not something you will definitely need. One note of course, on some websites this model is shown with 16 GB of RAM as well. So it may depend on which region you are in.
Other than the above mentioned things, there is not much to talk about the Zephyrus S GX701. It is a laptop that is primarily aimed at gamers. RGB keyboard, 144 Hz screen and of course RTX 2080 GPU is something that most people will never ever need.
Of course, with this price tag, you may ask yourself, will it be worth it? Well, that is unfortunately something that I can not answer. Of course, you will get a piece of art for the next few years. At the same time, if mobility is not a concern and you are a hard core gamer, I guess you would not be interested in this laptop as you would be searching for a good desktop PC. Considering the price, I guess you can also add a 144 Hz monitor easily.
Would I recommend this laptop to anyone? I am not so sure. Not because its capabilities, but because of its price. I always like to have some kind of price performance ratio. Unfortunately this laptop has none. As I said, it is just at the top of price list with really great features, features that most people will never need and features that can be bought cheaper from other manufacturers.

17.30": This display size is a standard format for desktop replacements (DTR). The DTR laptops are heavier to carry, need more power, but texts are easy to read and high resolutions are no problem. DTR are mainly intended for stationary desk use, where weight and energy hunger don't matter. In return, you enjoy the advantages of high resolutions (more details, better legibility).» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.
2.7 kg:
With this weight, a laptop is rather heavier than average. Devices in this range shine more with screen size and performance than with mobility.
