The Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 laptop is going to give gamers the opportunity to test out one of the impressive APUs from AMD’s new Ryzen 4000 HS-series. According to Asus, there are configurable variants of the laptop that feature the Ryzen 7 4800HS while marketing text on the landing page for the Zephyrus G14 states that the AMD Ryzen 9 4900HS will also be made available at some point in the near future.
AMD’s Ryzen 4000 HS-series is aimed at gamers who value performance and portability in equal measure. This is ideal for a device such as the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 laptop as it is targeted at users who prefer a smaller form factor but don’t want to lose out in terms of powerful components because of restricted space and less-effective cooling solutions.
Along with the Ryzen 4000 HS-series processor, the Zephyrus G14 offers buyers a choice from either a WQHD 60 Hz or FHD 120 Hz Pantone-validated display. The compact laptop weighs from 3.5 lbs (1.6 kg) and has a height of just 17.9 mm for the regular SKU. Users can expect the Zephyrus G14 to deliver 10 hours of video playback on battery power too. With up to 32 GB RAM available and the presence of the high-performance Ryzen 4000 HS-series chip, it seems Asus might be able to justify the claim that the ROG Zephyrus G14 is the “world’s most powerful 14-inch gaming laptop.”
