Dell and AMD have got together to produce the Dell G5 SE gaming laptop. In a departure from the presently available G5 lineup, both the GPU and SoC parts are being provided by AMD. The current Dell G5 15 5590 features a few configurations that are all based on Intel processors and graphics cards from Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 16 and RTX 20 series. But the upcoming Dell G5 Special Edition is all AMD power, thanks to the Ryzen 4000 H-series APU and Radeon RX 5600M GPU.
Along with the brand-new AMD Ryzen 4000 H-series APU that offers a higher level of performance for those who use their laptop for either gaming or creating, AMD’s Radeon Software is also on-board the Dell G5 SE. AMD FreeSync is included too, which is supported by the Radeon RX 5600M that should tantalize owners of the new Dell laptop with its 6 GB VRAM (GDDR6), 192-bit interface, 36 compute units, and the engineering prowess delivered by the RDNA architecture. Gamers should experience tear-free smooth gameplay thanks to the Renoir APU and Navi GPU.
The AMD-based Dell G5 SE can also boast of being able to utilize SmartShift Technology, thus enhancing the user experience provided by the Ryzen 4000 chip and the Radeon RX 5600M. The Special Edition variant of the Dell G5 gaming laptop is expected to launch in Q2 2020 and promises to offer prospective buyers the “ultimate mobile gaming experience”.
